Rumor has it that Microsoft’s Bing will soon integrate with ChatGPT.
In 2019, Microsoft made a $1 billion investment in OpenAI. This investment came with a multi-year partnership to develop artificial intelligence tech using Microsoft’s cloud computing service, Azure.
And now, according to two sources, Microsoft is preparing to launch a version of its Bing search engine that uses the AI behind ChatGPT to answer search queries, rather than showing a list of links*.

Microsoft is working on an AI-powered version of its search engine using OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
This comes almost 4 years after Microsoft made a $1 billion investment in OpenAI.
This announcement may not come as a surprise, as OpenAI’s image generator, DALL-E 2, is already available for Bing users in some regions.
Microsoft is still weighing both the chatbot’s accuracy and how quickly it can be included in the search engine before confirming a date, according to the source. But it’s rumored that this will become a part of Bing’s search features in March.
The initial release may be a limited test to a narrow group of users before being released to the masses.
This puts Microsoft ahead of Google in the race to incorporate AI chatbots into search. As we covered in previous article, we might hear updates from Google’s own AI efforts at Google I/O this May.
Microsoft is obviously betting that this will help them take a larger piece of that search pie. According to StatCounter, as of June 2022, Google’s global search engine market share was at 91.88%, with Bing following at only 3.19%
Some analysts and experts have argued that, despite the fact that the AI service sometimes provides incorrect information with the appearance of authority, its ability to summarize publicly available data makes it a credible alternative to Google search and a list of search-generated links.
The way I see it, is we also never know the true accuracy of things we read when a Google search leads to a blog. I couldn’t even get consistent information regarding aftercare rules for a vasectomy.

Clinical trials are utilizing AI to predict patient responses to treatments, and identify the optimal dosage and duration of the treatment.
AI is also being used to identify potential adverse drug reactions and assist with creating personalized treatment plans.
